Goodbye Canada ,Hallo! Europe,
What a
great past 2 days we have had so far. Travelling from Calgary to Munich,
arriving without our 13 bags but then soon releasing they were put on to
another flight, to driving in our das Auto that we named ‘Sandra’, on the autobahn. We even had a few seconds in the fast lane, though we
didn’t drive as fast as the BMWs,
Mercedes, and Audis. We also found
out that ‘ausfahrt’ means exit and it wasn’t a
town. On the way to Leogong, Salzburg where we will be training the next few
days, we passed Kitzbuhel where The Hahnenkam Downhill and World
Cup races are held.

When we arrived in Leogang, a cute old fashioned
Austrian town, we unpacked and had our first Austrian dinner. The food was
interesting, different from the food we usually eat, though trying new things is always good. We
were all tired that night so we went to bed early so we could be ready to
explore the mountain the next day. The next morning we trained slalom.

The snow had a lot
more moisture in it then Canada, it was a bit like Australia. Even
had our first schnitzel
in Austria at lunch. Before we trained in the afternoon, we went for a
bit of an explore. The mountains were so big we didn’t even realize that there were different
resorts on one hill , so we accidentally went in the wrong resort.
At the top of the
mountain Brett was taking a picture of us, and we were photo-bombed by an
Austrian in a pretty
awesome suit (well he must of thought it was awesome). We didn’t end up doing
to many runs today because we were all so tired from jetlag. We are already
planning the next few days so we should have a ball here. We have just done
video and we are ready to ski fast tomorrow.
