It's been a good start to 2012
- day of rest on the 1st
- start of 6 day training block on the 2nd (days 1 through 5 on snow, day 6 physical training)
- SL for the C1's - focus on top of the turn - open stance w. both skis carving back to the gate, continued work w. position & posture in brushes, stubbies and long gates
- GS for the C2's - focus on making speed at the top of the turn and driving the pressure down into the arc + the timing of movements (when & where to move)- 10x sessions - course setting 22-26m's w. use of line indicators and dye for turn placement & timing, as well as starts (building speed, rhythm and momentum)
- GS / SG for the FIS groups - similar to the K2's the FIS group is working on building early grip (pressure) at the top of the turn (bringing the speed back to the panel), whilst working w. different timing / tempos / movement patterns (short in the arc - long in the transition / long in the arc - short in the transition...staying w. the ski longer below the gate (penetrating arc)) - setting 24-30m's w. use of line indicators and dye for turn placement (when to step on it - when to let go - where the tips are pointing at the gate) + the use of timing including splits, as well as some gliding on the SG (developing patience, touch and stability)
Stay tuned for a summary of 2011 from IR - we've had a great year...thank you for being a part of it - check out the pics below from new year's eve - photo credit Jennifer Books
